Kybella & Localized Fat Reduction
Deoxycholic Acid is a form of bile salt which helps to dissolve fat. Using multiple small injections into the fat layer below the surface of the skin, deoxycholic acid helps to breakdown fat and minimize fatty deposits. Product is injected using small needles either under the chin (Kybella) or in the desired body area (Lipodissolve) to breakdown fat globules. Immediately after the procedure there will be swelling and tenderness for up to 4-6 weeks when the next treatment can be performed. A minimum of 2 treatments will be required to visualize results for the chin and more than 2 treatments are recommended for spot treatments on the body.

Fullness under the chin affects both men and women. This submental fat can be influenced by genetics, weight gain, and aging. Unfortunately, this fat can be resistant to diet and exercise on its own. Submental fullness often referred to as a “double chin”, is a common yet under-treated area of the body. kybella removes chin fat without pain or downtime. It is both FDA and Health Canada approved, and is considered the best non-surgical double chin treatment.
The active ingredient in Kybella, is deoxycholic acid, a naturally-occurring molecule in the body that aids in the breakdown and absorption of dietary fat. When injected into the fat beneath your chin, it causes the destruction of fat cells. Once destroyed, the cells cannot store or accumulate fat. A consultation will be done to decide how many treatments you will need for maximum results. Once the desired aesthetic response is achieved, re-treatment is not expected.
